Jaipur Shaken by Series of Earthquakes on July 21st, 2023

 

Jaipur, Rajasthan: The Pink City of Jaipur experienced a series of unsettling tremors on July 21st, 2023, as a trio of earthquakes struck within a span of 30 minutes, leaving residents in a state of shock and concern. The National Centre for Seismology reported that the three earthquakes jolted Jaipur in the wee hours of Friday and that the three tremors were felt within a span of 20 minutes.

According to geological reports, the first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.4, hit the city at precisely 4:09 am IST, waking many residents from their slumber and sending ripples of anxiety throughout the area. Within a short period, a second earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 4:22 am, followed closely by a third quake with a magnitude of 3.4 at 4:25 am.

The series of earthquakes in Jaipur come as a stark reminder of the importance of disaster preparedness measures, including regular safety drills, building codes, and awareness campaigns to equip residents with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively during such emergencies.
